This review is long overdue, like literally more than a year. Starting with the first phone call back in October 2014 when I was looking around to buy a used car, to my visit today for an oil change, the feeling has always been great—they really know how to treat their customers while delivering good service at the same time.

The staff is very friendly, but special attention goes to Richard for all the help. He ensured that the buying experience was pressure-free, patiently listened to all my concerns after test driving the vehicle I had zoomed in on (a 2012 Mazda 3 GX), made sure they were all addressed, and the whole process was quick and smooth. Not to mention the umpteen times I’ve called him since, over any concerns with the car, or for general advice on how to go about maintenance—he would often draw upon examples from his personal experiences to provide accurate and relevant advice, most of the time concluding not to worry about or fix something till it’s broke, or at least showing serious symptoms of damage and wear.

The service department is pretty competent too, quick to identify issues and resolve them. I get all my repair and maintenance work done from these guys with utter peace of mind.

I would definitely recommend them if you’re looking for some quality used cars in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. Their location might be a bit inconvenient, but the service is well worth it. Keep up the good work, guys!

I’m absolutely thrilled with my car! I went in knowing what I wanted. I had looked for a while at everyone’s websites and narrowed down my search to a Hyundai Sonata. Canadian Auto Mall had one that met my price and needs. When I went in, they showed me a similar model with lower mileage that they had got that day. I test drove both but fell in love with the lower mileage car. I waited to do this review because I wanted to see how they would handle problems but I haven’t had any problems. I drive a lot and it’s a dream car! I did my research (a lot of it) and I know I got an amazing car for an excellent price. There were no other Sonatas in Ottawa online with low mileage for such a good price. Very impressed with the staff and the customer focused attitude. It’ll be a while before I buy another car but, when I do, I’m going to look here first. 🙂

Just recently bought a 2010 VW Golf from the folks at the Canadian Auto Mall. Our great service was brought to us by Bill. My experience there was great! Before purchasing the vehicle from them we tried some of the other Volkswagen dealerships around Ottawa and lets just say we didn’t buy a car from them for certain reasons. When we walked into the C.A.M we were actually greeted at the door by someone unlike at other places. When we went to test drive it, Bill the sales man at the Canadian Auto Mall, let us take the car for about 20 minute test drive by ourselves. It let us figure out the car for ourselves and not have the sales person point out all the great features of the car to try and cover up the flaws and faults like at other places around the city. All and all, there’s a reason that we got the car, it’s because they were laid back and didn’t force us to buy the car. The great service I got from them is service I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a vehicle in the Ottawa/Gatineau area.

We visited the Canadian Auto Mall without any expectations. We were looking for a few options. However, we were surprised to find out that they had a lot of options for us. After walking the lot, we decided to try one of them. Richard was very easy going and accommodating. We were almost sold when we went for a test drive. Although, we wanted to check another car we had seen. We came back 20 minutes later decided to buy the car we liked. Again, Richard was very good considering that it was closing time. We made the transaction in no time and went back to pick our beautiful car a few days later. It was already waiting for me. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at the Canadian Auto Mall. I dealt with Sebastian first, who let me drive about 10 different vehicles over the span of 3-4 hour. Not once did he seem annoyed or impatient; in fact he encouraged me to drive as many vehicles as I could. I thought that was a huge plus as it saved me from driving all over the city trying out different vehicles. Not once did I get the classic “auto sales scumbag” vibe from these guys. After trying numerous vehicles, I settled on a 2009 Lexus ES-350. Then they handed me over to Ott for all the final paper work. Ott was great too; very knowledgeable & helpful and they had the car delivered to me earlier than promised. The car was clean & detailed when I picked it up. Basically, a flawless experience. I can’t say that about any other car dealership I’ve ever been too (except Tony Graham Lexus) so I give these guys a five star rating and big thumbs up. Would recommend them in a heartbeat!

Was impressed with the quality of the cars on selection; we somehow managed to find a used car with only 33,800kms on it. We were indecisive but every time we were greeted by friendly staff willing to answer any questions and make the transition easier. The extended warranty options seem pretty expensive, but seem like a great value none the less. Would definitely recommend at least checking the place out online or stopping in!

We went to see about getting information on a silver 2011 Lincoln MKZ advertised last week in CAM’s website. By the time we got on site, the car was sold. We were happily surprised to see their great inventory sitting outside on their lot and looked at a few Mercedes and Infiniti’s, however, when we spotted the blue Lincoln MKZ, it was love at first sight! Bill came out with a friendly smile and asked if we would like to take ‘her’ for a ride. My partner who drove loved it and commented how smooth the ride was, how the seats were so comfortable and how quiet it was. By the time we came back, our decision was sealed to buy it. Bill referred us to Ott who was equally as friendly as Bill and together we closed the deal. I looked at alot of used cars throughout the city and was extremely happy I went to Canadian Auto Mall – no major haggling and high pressure sales – got a great vehicle at a great price – special thanks to Ott!

Like many people, we normally dread going used car shopping and even more so when it comes the point of finalizing the purchase price and conditions. To our surprise, the entire experience from first meeting Richard Johnston to signing the final contract with Ro Kahlia could not have been more pleasant, stress free, and fair. We found an excellent vehicle at a very reasonable price.

Again to our surprise, when we returned the next week to pick up the car, a complete set of new tires had been fitted as their shop did not feel that the ones on the car at the time of road test sale were adequate. They had also noted that the emergency tire inflation kit was missing and would be replaced with a new one. Both of these items were done at no charge to us. I don’t think many dealers would do this sort of thing to make a customer happy!

Great service from both sales and financing, nice inventory and no pressure at any point. This is what I was looking for in a car lot and that is what I found. They were even quick to help (at no charge) with a minor issue that as the buyer I should have been more on the ball for. Most other dealerships would have charged me or sent me on my way. Just recently purchased a 2009 Honda Civic. The experience was a simple and easy which is all you can ask for when you are buying a car. Their team was very helpful and my car is doing great and was a great steal.

When my wife emailed them, Richard, a salesman, replied and answered all her questions. She was very pleased with his reply. She is from Japan where customer service is excellent. While she feels there is not much good customer service in Canada, she finds his reply was timely and fantastic. We did not buy a car from him as we found a car near our place in Northern Ontario. He was happy for her and offered further assistance if she needed. We need more customer service like his in Canada.

I chose to go back to them a second time because of how good my first experience was. Canadian Auto Mall is one of the best experiences I had buying a car. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Not your usual pushy sales person type. They also have a large variety of cars. Everyone knows that buying a car is stressful, but I have to say that this was one of the best experience we have had buying a car. I have been in sales a number of years and think I know what it takes to be a good salesperson. I found that here at Canadian Auto Mall. I dealt with Ott Martens and found him to not only be very friendly and personable but his love of cars gives him the knowledge to know his product very well. When I described to him what I was looking for it just so happened he had EXACTLY what we were looking for! I had a few vehicles lined up at other places to go see but after stopping here we went no further.
There is no pressure from the sales, just knowledge on the product and financing options were very smooth. Within a few days we had our new (to us) 2011 F150 and were financed, licenced and ready to roll. We did have one mechanical issue with the vehicle but it was dealt with swiftly and smoothly to our complete satisfaction.
If I need any other vehicle in the future this would be the first place to stop!

That was a great start. Sent a request, then got a very nice friendly call from Peter Girouard ( yes people he does have a French name.- does not speak it but has that wonderful French Maritimer attitude.) There were several cars that fitted my desires, test drove the Venza and that was that. Peter was certainly an asset to my purchase, making sure everything was done right.. I give my experience purchasing a car an 8 out of 10. Because, I did not find the owner overly friendly. and that car was not cleaned properly ( ok not to a Monica Geller level, those who watch Friends will know who I am referring too.) It just was not cleaned . I have issues with the FOBS and I feel very comfortable going back there to have it resolved. All in all, happy , very happy.. Thx for reading Andrée.

Thank you guys so much for everything! We picked up our 2011 Mini Cooper last week and honestly we couldn’t be happier! Peter and Ott were fantastic and made purchasing a new car quite an enjoyable experience. Their professionalism and super customer service is greatly appreciated. They even had the car ready for pick up before the delivery date.

These guys also back up their 30 day warranty because we brought our new car back in to have the alignment adjusted and there were no questions and no hassle when we called the service department. They even went as far as to replace the headlight that had burnt out, even though it wasn’t covered.

In future, we will definitely be back when we need to replace our Mini, but in the meantime we will enjoy every second with our fun little car. We will also recommend Canadian Auto Mall to our friends and anyone who asks us where we got our car.

I did the test drive on 16th August, and got the vehicle on 19th with everything done including the plate.
